Evidence-Based Therapy for Children, Adolescents and Adults
At Blissful Minds Psychology, Anneke Reijmerink provides a range of evidence-based psychological therapies. After conducting an initial assessment, she will work together with you to select the approach that best aligns with your treatment goals. Anneke’s comprehensive training and clinical expertise enable her to combine various therapeutic methods, ensuring that each session is customized to address your specific needs.
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an interactive form of psychotherapy that is perfectly suited for those who have experienced traumatic events and psychological distress, such as sexual abuse, an accident, bullying or other acts of (domestic) violence.
Although EMDR is well-known as an evidence-based therapy method to treat PTSD and trauma in clients of all ages, it also successfully treats other mental health disorders such as: depression, (social) anxiety, panic attacks, low self-esteem, body image issues and addictions.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness is the psychological process of bringing one’s attention and awareness to the internal and external experiences occurring in the present moment, without judgement. This skill can be developed through the practice of meditation and other training.
Mindfulness makes us aware of our thoughts and feelings without getting caught up in them – which is particularly helpful when faced with everyday challenges or difficult situations.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy (talking therapy) based on the idea that how you think and act affects how you feel. It can help in many different situations. CBT helps you to understand your thinking and behaviour.
You’ll learn skills that will help with your current problems and that you can apply to future problems. It relies on a close professional relationship with your therapist. They will help you to recognise the difference between helpful and unhelpful thoughts, and teach you how to let go of the unhelpful thoughts.
Child & Adolescent Therapy
Child and Adolescent therapy is different to therapy and counselling for adults.
In therapy with children and adolescents, less emphasis is placed on talking. Children and teenagers often express themselves more freely by engaging with (online) toys, games, (role) playing, art, or acting.
Blissful Minds offers a safe space and an empathetic ear, while providing (psychological) tools to bring about change in thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Child therapy can be practised with one child; a child and a parent(s), or even with other family members.
